Students receive a high‑visibility safety vest when they enrol, and they are expected to wear it to and from school each day. The vest remains the property of Balfour School, so please keep it in good condition. Vests must be returned at the end of the school year or if your child moves schools. Unreturned or damaged vests may incur a replacement cost.

We are excited to introduce our updated school uniform from February 2026. The new navy blue hoodie and maroon polo shirt proudly display our refreshed school logo and help create a strong sense of belonging across our school community. A small number of hoodies and polos are available at school, and additional items can be purchased from Southern Workwear in Gore. Students are asked to wear navy blue or black pants, shorts, or skorts. To support safety and wellbeing, only stud earrings are permitted. Brimmed hats remain essential during the summer months, and these are available for purchase through the school.

Students will be issued a sports top and shorts or a tracksuit for school sports and cultural events such as Waimea Athletics and Kapa Haka. They should wear the sports uniform to the event and change out of it as soon as possible afterwards. Please return the sports uniform to school the next school day unwashed, as parent helpers take care of laundering. All sports uniforms remain the property of Balfour School. Lost or damaged items may incur a replacement cost. Thank you for helping us look after our sports uniforms.
